Hello Friends,
After blowing SE all night, the wind dropped around daybreak and was coming lightly from the south at 3-5kts at 0800. The Bureau tells us it’ll dribble around at 10-15 kts from the east to SE today, so the current choppy and unappetising looking surface conditions will continue. Swell was 1.7 metres from the south (154°) at 10-seconds as of 0600. As the pictures show, set wave faces were into the shoulder high range. Unfortunately, along with the all day onshores, the swell is predicted to fade. Tide was a 1.59 m high at 0730 and is running out to a 0.48 low at 1400. Sea temp is on 22C according to Beachwatch and water quality is good apart from North Curly where it’s rated “pollution possible”.
Although swell is fading, there should be something in the knee to waist high range for the rest of the week and tomorrow the call is for sunny and offshore.
Have a great Tuesday everybody!
Weather Situation
A high pressure system near Tasmania is slowly moving east, generating southeast to northeasterly winds along the New South Wales coast. This high will decay on Wednesday, as a trough crosses the southern parts, but will quickly be replaced by another, stronger, high pressure system.
