Proper pea-souper this morning

Hello Friends,

RealSurf HQ was socked in at day break. Visibility was down to 200 m or less. Out at sea the buoy data showed that the swell has dropped into the 1.2 metre range, but that the period has jumped up to 12-13 seconds from the SE. Figure waist with the odd plus. Wind at North Head as of 0730 was coming lightly from the west. As the fog lifts the breezes should drift around to the SW before turning southerly later. Tide was low at 0650 and will be high again at 1255.

As always it’ll be interesting to see the Goat’s call for the weekend and beyond. My quick take is that there isn’t much headed our way, but that it should be possible to justify jumping into the 19C water now and then across the next week.

Will endeavour to add a pic or two by around 0900 as I’ll be making the Manly run…

Weather Situation
A high pressure system lies over the Tasman Sea, while a weak low pressure trough lingers just off the New South Wales coast. This trough is expected to remain in the region for the next day or two, before decaying at the end of the week as a new high strengthens over the southern Tasman Sea. The next cold front is expected to cross the coast on Sunday.
