The Goat’s Surf Forecast

Surf forecast issued Thursday 8 July 2021: Seven day outlook for Sydney:

Yikes! Can you believe TG forgot it was Thursday. He was flat out, chilled out relaxing after another hectic day of lockdown…

Hectic? A very pleasant extended long exercise walk was followed later on by some more cancelling and rebooking domestic travel arrangements, that had already been cancelled and rebooked previously. No wonder he forgot what day it was (!) after the physical exercise and the mental exercise – the metaphorically productive equivalent of filling in holes that had dug and previously refilled, after being previously dug.

But he’s here now. He saw varoius good waves on his extended walk. In these times of cold air he feels less inclined to participate if the waves don’t look TG friendly.  But that’s not to say others weren’t enjoying them.

Anyhoo the outlook is for more cool air, lightish winds, but some big waves from outta the East over the weekend – only for the experienced – if a Low does what the BoM currently expcets it to do.

Subject to what Mother Nature decides she’ll do>>>

Friday: if you’re fortunate engough to be able to exercise close to home in the surf, and want to despite all else, this looks like a user friendly day in the 1-2 metre range at places that get dead South swell

Saturday: subject to what the Low does … coming up in say the 2-3 metre range Eastish

Sunday: say in the 3-4 metre range Eastish, ditto proviso

Monday: easing backin the 1-2 metre range East

Tuesday: ditto

Wednesday: ditto

Thursday and ditto.

Stay safe in and out of the surf and follow official Health advice.

TG.

Water temp is around 19, although informants tell me compared to the air, the sand and the carpark surface, it feels warm
