"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Cold start but plenty of swell

Hello Friends,

Wind going straight through ya as Saturday got started, but we have another morning with head high plus sets at Dee Why and offshore under the high overcast skies. There were more than 20 in the water at the point before 0700, and lots of bods along the beach trying to find the odd makeable section among the shutdowns.

Out at sea the swell was 2.5 metres at 11 seconds from the SSE (158°). And, as noted below, the Bureau expects it to pick up a little in the afternoon. Wind should come up as well, but stay offshore at the south ends.

Stay safe everyone, mask up when you’re out and about, and line up that jab if you haven’t done so already.

Weather Situation

A deep low over the Tasman Sea continues to bring strong west to southwesterly winds across much of the NSW coast. As the low drifts slowly towards New Zealand, winds are expected to ease during the weekend and become northeast to northwesterly on Sunday ahead of a trough that will bring west to southwesterly change over the coastal waters on late Sunday or early Monday.
