Just a couple of SUPs out sweeping the ocean meditively this morning at Dee Why. The forecast says 1.5 to 2.5 metres and the buoys were showing 1.4m at 10 seconds from 175°, but I guess the westerlies are still pushing the swell away from the coast. Wind is set to go SE this afternoon so, maybe we’ll get lucky, and a little swell will break through before it goes onshore. Tide was high at 0715 and will be back to low at 1330. Weather call is for a cool for this time of year 21C high along with mostly sunny skies. Beachwatch says water is clean and 20C.
The swell models are in line with the Bureau on our surf outlook, ie south magnets early being the best bet for tomorrow and Thursday. Friday and Saturday currently look like being marginal to flat as the average periods drop back into the sub-10 second range.
Definitely a morning to check the south magnets just in case…
