Monday morning bigger bump

Hello Friends,

15-25 kts of southerly with the odd shower sweeping through along the beaches this morning. Swell at sea was 2.5 metres at 7 seconds from the S by SSW (192°). The weather’s set to stay mostly grey and showery, while the wind should come more around to the SE – so, if anything, it’ll get even messier. Water quality was still ok most places, but Beachwatch has flagged the Manly stretch as “pollution possible”. Water is now up to a very summery 24C. Tide was low at 0840 and will be back to a middling 1.5 m high at 1500. Today’s temp should be 21C.

The BoM says we can expect SE wind for another couple of days yet – at least. And from tomorrow the swell heights start fading again. The swell models aren’t offering any special hopes for the remainder of the week. Basically it looks like back to the usual metre or so of mostly sub-10 second bump mainly from the southerly quarters with wind mostly NE from around Thursday into early next week.

But then this might be happening…

Stay safe folks. Get those N95s and rapid antigen test kits and of course the third jab as soon as you are allowed.

You’d want to be keen, but at least there are a few shoulder plusses

Weather Situation

A southerly change over the south of the Mid North Coast will continue moving north today, with south to southeasterly winds building along the coast. The winds then will become east to southeasterly as a strong high pressure system south of the Bight slowly moves across Bass Strait through the first half of the week.
