"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Experienced only this morning

Hello Friends,

1000 update:

Couple of pics from Dee Why at about 0900. I watched for quite some time and while there were a few reasonable ones at the point and along the beach, the general impression was that despite all the waves, many weren’t makeable. The beachy was bigger than the point, but you were doing heaps of paddling for rare payoffs. The point had a disorganised quality to it, with lots of potentially interesting waves turning out ho-hum when people actually got into ’em. A low percentage game with an increasing sideshore.

Looking solid chest to head plus and consistent this morning at Dee Why. Looks like a lot of water in motion so definitely not a morning for beginners or most intermediates. Wind was 7-11 kts NNW by 0730 and it looks like staying that way until around lunchtime when it’ll move to the NE. Tide is low at 0950, but it’s a 0.74 and the high at 1530 is a 1.15, so it’s not much of a factor today. Swell at sea was 2.1 metres at 10-11 seconds from the ESE as of 0750. It’s set to fade across the day and tomorrow should be around half the current size. Water is on 24C and clean everywhere but maybe the lagoon entrances. Should be sunny all day as we head to a high of 31C.

Go well, stay safe and have fun.
