SE wind messiness

Hello Friends,

Good morning to have stayed in bed. Apart from the pretty sky at sunrise, it was a grim scene along the beaches for Saturday morning. The SE wind didn’t let up overnight and at daybreak it was pushing along at 13-21 kts. The Bureau says the swell should increase across the day, but as you can see from the pictures, there wasn’t much going on for the early. Swell at sea was 2.35 m at 8-9 seconds from 157° (SSE) as of 0640.

Weather is set to be showery as we head to a maximum temp of 25C. There was an overflow at Warriewood yesterday and water quality along the beaches was iffy at Manly and the lagoon entrances. Beachwatch says it’s a tropical 25C in.

TC Dovi could push some east energy at us in the next 24 hours, but while swell should kick up, it looks as though the wind will be staying out of the easterly quarters the whole time. There could be a reasonable session for the early on Monday though – if the wind holds off. You’ll be wanting to look at high tide spots though because the peak is at 0750.

Go well one and all and stay safe!

Weather Situation

A ridge of high pressure is strengthening along the New South Wales coast as a high moves across Tasmania. This high will reach the Tasman Sea later Saturday, causing northeasterly winds to develop. Meanwhile, Severe Tropical Cyclone Dovi is expected to move south, over the eastern Tasman Sea during Saturday, generating large easterly swells.
