Hello Friends,
There were a few sunny breaks around earlier this morning and the wind was out of the SW at 4-5 kts, so conditions were nice and smooth. Swell at sea was around 1.6 metres and coming from the SE at 11 seconds apart. This was delivering occasional waist to chest plus sets at the best exposures. The rainy weather has taken its toll on water quality which means that from Newport south to Manly pollution is possible according to Beachwatch. Ocean temperature has cogged down to 21C too. Tide was low a little after 0900 and will be back to a moderate 1.39 m high at 1515 or so.
The Bureau says we can expect the waves to get a bit bigger this afternoon (when the wind is expected to have gone SE). E-SE wind and the rain will continue at least through Wednesday as will the south swell. Right now it looks like maybe Wednesday morning could be interesting for the early session at south magnets. Swell starts to fade back and swing more east from Thursday, according to the models. Right now, Saturday morning is looking kind of interesting with winds predicted to be offshore under sunny skies and east swell in 2 metre, 10-11 sec range…
The new PM sworn in this morning. Start of a hopeful chapter for our country.
