"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Friday dawns fair

“When the child of morning, rosy-fingered Dawn, appeared, we admired the island and wandered all over it…”
-The Odyssey, by Homer (800 BCE)

Hello Friends,

Mostly sunny skies this morning along with 10-15 kts of westerly wind and 1.6 metre SSE swell packing 17-second periods. Swell’s going by unexposed stretches, but magnets such as south Curly were solidly overhead (see pics). Dee Why had fattish looking shoulder high sets. The beach was similar size, but as with Curly, the very long period was causing the majority of waves to close out.
Tide hits the 1.42 m high at 1045 and is back to low at 1615. Ocean’s clean and 20C.
Go well fine folk!

According to the Goat, we still have surf in prospect across coming days. However the showery, southerly stuff looks like making a return this weekend.

Weather Situation

A low pressure system lies off the southeast coast, and will cause fresh to strong southerly winds across the southern and central waters today. Meanwhile, powerful swells are likely to persist until Sunday. Otherwise, a high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea will maintain a ridge over New South Wales for the next few days.
