Uninviting Sunday morning

Hello Friends,

A showery, blowy start to Sunday as the rain-bearing weather moves out to sea. Wind was 15-25 kts from the SW at 0830 and the Bureau has a gale warning posted. The buoy data shows dead south swell at 3.5 metres with a period of 9 seconds, so the energy is pretty much staying offshore and what is coming in is close together, pretty much unsurfable shoulder to head high junk at the most exposed spots.

Swell’s going to fade across the day and tomorrow should be noticeably smaller with more south wind. Tuesday looks similar but with wind going east and possibly offering a little cleanish session at daybreak for places that like east. Swell looks like bumbling around the 1.5m/9-10 sec mark from the east through the work week and wind does also looks like staying onshore. I have my eye on Wednesday morning at this point as one of the models is predicting light offshores for the early along with 1.6m of 10sec east swell…

Go well with your Sunday one and all!

Weather Situation

A southerly change has moved through southern and central parts of the coast and will extend northwards during today with gales in central areas as a low pressure centre deepens offshore. The low is expected to move rapidly away from the coast today, with conditions gradually easing as a high pressure system becomes dominant.
