"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Scrappy but do-able

Hello Friends,

This morning saw a blustery 10-20 kt SW wind providing semi-offshore conditions at Dee Why. Swell was 2.4 metres at 8 seconds from the SE, so set wave faces were hitting shoulder high plus. As you can see from the pictures, it wasn’t super clean, but then again, you won’t have to wait long for a chance. Tide was high at 0515 and will be back to the 0.6 m low at 1215. Weather is expected to be showery as it heads to a high of 27. The heavy rain yesterday means that pollution levels at all beaches south from Avalon/Bungan have been given the ‘pollution possible’ or in most of Manly’s case, ‘pollution likely’ ratings by Beachwatch.

From the look of this morning’s swell modelling, we’re in for weaker and smaller conditions for the rest of the work week and then, possibly we’ll see a bit of improvement on the weekend.

Go well everyone!

Weather Situation

A ridge of high pressure extends towards the northern New South Wales coast while a slow-moving trough is bringing southerly winds to the southern coast. This trough will reach central parts of the coast today and then stall, possibly forming a low pressure system on Tuesday. This low is forecast to move away to the southeast and decay on Wednesday, with southerly winds turning northerly on Thursday as a ridge of high pressure develops.
