Dribble day morning

Hello Friends,

The ESE wind blew all night and this morning at daybreak it was 11-15 kts. The swell was a metre from the east with an anemic 7 second period. Put those together, and you get… nothing much at all for Sydney surfers. There were a few keen types in the water at Kiddies before 0700, but the picture tells the story. It was struggling to make knee high and if you caught a wave, it didn’t last more than a few seconds before fading out. So yeah, an excellent day for other activities.

Outlook is for conditions to remain extremely marginal across the weekend and well into next week. Right now the models are showing a gradual improvement on Wednesday with Thursday morning currently looking to be the pick day.

Weather outlook is for showers and a high of 24, so an excellent day for NSW folk to fulfill your civic obligation by voting. I love our country’s preferential voting system which let me give my verdict for every party and candidate. So cool!

Go well everyone and catch you tomorrow.

Weather Situation

A low pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a trough towards the north coast, with southeasterly winds to the southern flank of the trough. Winds will slowly turn easterly during the latter part of the weekend into early new week as the trough weakens while a broad ridge returns across the east. Then another trough looks set to enter the far south coast on Tuesday.
