"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Perfect looking start to Monday at Dee Why

Hello Friends,

As of 0730, swell at sea was 4-6 metres at 13 seconds from 174° (ie, south). Wind was west 10-13 kts and tide was coming in to a moderate 1.3m high at 1015. The ocean is 21. Skies were clear and the air temp was around 10C. As the pictures show, the swell was lighting up the point with set wave faces solidly into the overhead range. The beach was a bit bigger, but the shutdowns ruled and I didn’t see anybody in the water north of Kiddies. These are intense conditions, so if you aren’t a fit and experienced surfer, you’d be wise to look for a protected south corner.

Surf conditions should be good all morning and into the afternoon. Plus, the outlook is for smaller but still punchy south swell tomorrow and very likely Wednesday.

Go well everyone!

Weather Situation

A cold front moving through southeast Australia is bringing a vigorous west to southwesterly airstream. A strong high approaching the Bight is expected to move over New South Wales from today in the wake of the front and become the dominant influence for much of the week. Winds are expected to ease by this afternoon. The next cold front is expected during Thursday with strengthening northwest winds turning west to southwesterly behind the front.
