Tuesday morning waves

Hello Friends,

Sunny skies, brisk air temperature, and light NW wind were on hand to greet the 1.5 metre, 9.8-sec SSE swell. Tide was dropping to the low at 1030 when I grabbed the snaps. Sets looked to be in the chest high range and as with yesterday, the lulls were on the long side. The banks remain unhelpful, shall we say. The very high ratio of shutdowns to makeable ones continues.

We should see a high of 21 today, with water temps around the 19 mark.

Outlook is for swell to gradually decrease by close of play tomorrow to become near flat on Thursday. On current reckoning, we might see a little bump upward into the surfable range by Friday afternoon. Beyond that the weekend looks possible for morning waves (but grey skies) and then on Monday it currently is shaping to be rainy, onshore and into the 2 metre range…

Have yourself a top old Tuesday!

Weather Situation

A ridge of high pressure persists across central and northern coastal waters while a series of cold fronts pass to the south, bringing fresh westerly winds across southern coastal waters. Winds will become strong in the south during the midweek before turning southerly as a cold front brushes south on Thursday, then winds will become lighter east to northeasterly throughout the coastal waters during the latter part of the week as the centre of the high moves to the Tasman Sea.
