The Goat’s Surf Forecast

The Goat’s Surf Forecast

Surf forecast issued Thursday 6 July 2023: Seven day outlook for Sydney

Conditions looked pretty today with lovely looking long period though not big swell, brushed by the offshore wind.

But looks can be deceiving…

The waves at the places I saw were straighthanders,

resulting from the straight banks neatly lined up by days of consistently offshore wind; and

there was an apparent wait between the sets,

which combined with the cold water

and the cold fresh breeze

meant that anyone I saw coming out of the “surf” who wasn’t of school age… was shivering and looked like they were wondering if they’d done the right thing.

And hey… there are more offshores forecast for the next several days>>>

So the surf outlook looks something like this ~~~~~

Friday: around 1 metre or so, more or less

Saturday: around 1 metre or so, more or less

Sunday: around 1 metre or so, more or less

Monday: around 1 metre or so, more or less

Tuesday: around 1 metre or so, more or less

Wednesday: around 1 metre or so, more or less

Enjoy, and stay warm.
