"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Clean morning with the odd wave

Hello Friends,

We kicked off Thursday with sunny skies and smooth surface conditions along the beaches. Wind was coming lightly from the NNW at 0730 and the swell settings were little changed from the last few days. That said, the primary direction has shifted slightly to be a touch more SSE than yesterday. It was 1.3 metres at 13 seconds as of 0500, so while I don’t think it’s going to be any more consistent than yesterday, at least there should be the occasional chest plus at south magnets.

Tide was high at 0745 and it’ll be back to low at 1440. Weather is set to be sunny and a hot 32, with extreme fire danger. The current light winds should swing NE by lunch time and get into the 15-25 kt range. There’s a 60% chance of a late shower too.

As for the surf prospects, well, we should hear from the Goat later today. I’m liking the look of tomorrow and Saturday…

Go well!

Weather Situation

Today northerly winds will strengthen ahead of a cold front which will bring a vigorous south to southwesterly change to southern and central waters during the afternoon and evening. This change will weaken as it moves north on Friday. After this, a ridge of high pressure is forecast to extend across from the west.
