"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Warm, sunny and very small

Hello Friends,

Heading to 31 for what should be a mostly sunny day with a chance of a late afternoon thunderstorm. When I grabbed the pics around 1030, the breeze was coming lightly from the WNW, but it should swing more easterly soon. Swell was clocking in at 1.2 metres from the east with a 7 second period. Tide was coming off the 0955 1.8m high and, as you can see from the pics, waves were in the knee to waist high range. In case you’re wondering, the reason I disappeared forĀ  the last 4 days was to take a quick trip out to WA where we got in a few swims, a snorkle and bike-riding around Rottnest Island (good fun). Didn’t have the board, but we looped down to Margaret River and I got a chance to pay my respects to WA’s most famous wave (see below) which was showing some nice size. Unfortunately the wind was hammering, so the only people in the water were kiteboarders.

A quick glance at the charts suggests that we’re not looking at the most exciting week ahead, but assuming he’s not taking a break, I’ll be interested to see what the Goat says later…

Hope you’re having a cruisy and mellow Xmas-New Year’s week.
