Hello Friends,
Good news for early risers – it’s not flat. Swell’s similar to yesterday, ie about a metre from the SE, but the period has bumped up into the 11-second range and that means open stretches should be seeing waist to occasionally chest high sets. As the pictures show, the point was picking up the odd catchable one around 0930. The beach was looking lined up and shutting down (so, what’s new?), but there were heaps of folks in the water making the most of the holiday weekend waves. Wind was coming lightly from the west to NW and the Bureau says we can expect that to continue this morning before it drifts around to the NE in the afternoon. Tide peaks at a modest 1.3 metres at 1220 and water is still on 22. We should see a high of 25 today.
From the look of the swell models, the little, liney conditions should bounce along at about the current intensity through Monday.
Have a great Saturday everybody!
Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the New South Wales coast, directing southeast to northeasterly winds onto the coast. There will be little change to this pattern until early next week, with winds tending more northerly on Monday and freshening in many areas ahead of a cold front. This front is forecast to bring a west to southwesterly change to southern and central parts of the coast during Tuesday, extending north, although weakening, on Wednesday.
