PICS: Dee Why point Tues 28 July 2015

Dee Why point

Tuesday morning saw solid two metre plus south swell and a low tide at Dee Why point for around 30 keen participants. Size ranged from shoulder-ish to solidly overhead. I managed to get over 200 pics of the action which you can check out by going here.

Piccies from the big but grey morning at Dee Why

A selection of shots from this morning’s activity at the point. It was pretty crowded and not super clean, but the bomb sets made things interesting for those of us who had a go. Herewith a sample of the 150 image gallery these images all link to. Enjoy!

PICS: Dee Why late morning Friday

After getting a few waves myself, I went and grabbed the camera to do a bit of shooting at Dee Why point on Friday morning.

Swell was showing around 3 metres at 12 seconds from the SSE at that stage and there was quite a crew on it. By the time I got out of the water, the tide was just beginning to really drop and the waves were improving.

Pics: Sat am, Dee Why point

The hefty swell of the day before had backed off a fair amount for Saturday, but there were still a few double-overhead bombs keeping things interesting for the 40-odd people in the water around 0900. There are 90 pictures in the main gallery which, as usual, you get to simply by clicking on any of […]

PICS: Friday morning at big Dee Why point

dy point surfing

Swell bumped up overnight on Friday morning it was steaming in at 3-4 metres from the south east with an average period around the 10-second mark. Conditions were tricky and wave faces on bomb sets were into the double-overhead range. I shot from the usual mix of locations and ended up with a gallery of […]

PICS: DY point Thursday am

dee why point surfer

At first it looked as though the Bureau might’ve been wrong about the wind… when I got to the point around 0830 there were 20 people in the water and some kinda nice head plus sections on offer. It gradually got lumpier, but for the next hour or so I managed to get a few […]

A midday gallery

When the skies unexpectedly cleared, I decided to jump in the beautiful warm water for a quick sesh at the Pole. Nothing to write home about really, but the water is beautiful and it didn’t seem to be much affected by run-off. Waves were in the waist to chest range and seemed to have an […]

Thumping Dee Why pics

A few snaps from the madness at Dee Why point this morning. The wind decided not to go onshore, but instead swung SW and the SE swell though down a bit from earlier, was still 3.6 metres at 11 seconds on the MHL buoy. Tide was making it relatively fat and the rawness of the […]

A few pics from this morning at DY and Northy

Hello Friends, Funny thing happened between posting the report and my getting down to Dee Why this morning… seemed like the swell decided it really wanted to go play somewhere else because there were some long lulls for the crew. Definitely a few keepers though, particularly if your craft of choice was a lid. Word […]

A few more piccies from this morning

Went for a surf this morning at the point and pulled a few frame grabs from my shoulder mounted gopro hero3 footage. Water was lovely, and wind not a factor until well after 11. Sets were around the chest to shoulder mark, but mostly it was smaller than that.
