Hello Friends,

It would seem that we continue to have the odd wave about the place. There were a few folk enjoying the conditions down at Dee Why beach where sets are getting into the waist to chest high range on the big’ins. There’s not enough in it to get the point going and I reckon that these conditions will be mirrored on other south facing beaches.

Up and down the east coast, the story is the same – swell out of the south at 1-1.5 metres with periods averaging around 8-9 sec.

Nice and sunny this morning, but the Bureau says it will cloud up this afternoon with the chance of a shower. Wind is out of the NW at around 10 kts as I write this around 0820. The Bureau’s call is for it to build to 20-25 kts before swinging to the SW at 25-33 kts.

Tomorrow the wind should still be going along at about that speed, but as the day develops, it should back off. Not a lot of hope for improvement to swell though. If anything, it looks as though it’s going to get down into flatness territory. And a quick glance at the models suggests it will be that way for the front half of the new week.

Speaking of the models, I’ve added some new links to the RealSurf weather links page and tweaked the other listings in an effort to make them more readable on mobile devices*. I still have quite a list of to-do’s on the page, so I am grateful to those of you who’ve been in touch with your thoughts about how things could be improved. It was such a big change structurally, that lots of things I wanted to have ready for you on the changeover just could not be managed. Anyway, I’m still nibbling away at a very long list, so please expect incremental changes (improvements, I hope) to keep happening.

Go well & stay happy!

*I’m playing around with a mobile version of the site in my spare time. If your phone supports internet browsing, why not bookmark http://m.realsurf.com ? Along with some testing stuff,  I’ve set it up so that you can get to the weather links in a click. Dazzle your mates with the latest MHL trace on your phone! Again, any thoughts and feedback appreciated!
