Dee Why & Curly

Hello again,

Back from the morning’s run around and I can confirm that once again it’s marginal. There wasn’t much wind around at 730 but there wasn’t much in the way of windswell either. Collaroy and the north and south sides of Long Reef weren’t even worth a picture. On the north side it was flat and choppy and on the south it was smooth but near flat as well.

The biggest waves I saw at Dee Why were foaming little close outs on a bank between the pole and the SLSC. I’m sure that the three or four people out there did actually catch one or two waves – but not while I watched. So after grabbing the snap below, I headed over to Curly for a squiz.

Okay, "shutdown" is a bit strong... fluffdown? slopdown? chopflop?

North Curly, as you’d expect given the NE seabreeze, was cleaner than Dee Why and there were a few slightly bigger sets. Only a couple folks in the water and it appeared that you needed to wait quite awhile to get one big enough to catch. Probably the pick of the spots before 0800 today.
