Byron Bay Today’s Weekend Windup June 27th 2009
Posted by: Big Ben on June 28th, 2009Ok here’s the Weekend Windup. Well what an odd week it’s been in Byron bay. Sunday was washed away with torrential rain, by Tuesday it was fine and sunny with joyous offshore barrels. Then the rest of the week has seen an eerie stillness with violet grey skies. The waves have been strange too, there’s been twisting cross ups and the banks are on the move again. But there were some damned fine barrels to be had at times. This week we went to check on the custom glassing of the In Byron Bay Today subscriber’s lucky draw Bob Brown board that’s been won by S. Mackay. It’s looking real nice too, hmm I’m sorely tempted to hang on to it for myself, but no. We’ll have a little presentation next week when the board’s finished and introduce you all to the bloke that won. Speaking of which, don’t forget we’ll be doing it all again sometime this yearlong or shortboard choice is yours. If you’re not a subscriber you can’t win, it’s free to subscribe so don’t be shy.
