Arvo update: yep, she’s windy

All that cold, cold wind has pushed up a little something if you’re keen. Went by Manly around 1430 and there were a few bods at the south end chasing knee to waist high plus soft little offshore sets. Pretty weak looking it has to be said. Queenscliff was getting more energy and had more folks, but it wasn’t really turning it on. Mighta been the tide, or maybe the comparatively windswelly 8 second period and straight south direction.

Around the corner at Curly there was more size again, but the 15-25 kts of SW’ly was making it pretty rugged looking and I didn’t see anyone in the water. Over the hill at Dee Why there were a few getting some things at the point and in the beachy, but despite the size out at sea, it looked to be pretty weak for the most part. Still, if you’re keen and you don’t mind the frigid temps, you’ll get something if you make an effort.

Should be around the same size tomorrow, but the wind is expected to be straight south to start with, so surf options will be limited. On the other hand, it should be about as big as it’s going to get for a day or two, so you might want to add that to your calculations….

Have a top Monday evening one and all.
