"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

That was fun

Hello Friends,

Did you get in the water over the weekend? Hope so because it really doesn’t get much better in Sydney. Actually, it doesn’t really get much better anywhere come to that.

Sadly, this morning sees conditions just about down to flat. There are some tiny little waves around along the Dee Why to Longy stretch, but over at Curly there really wasn’t anything at all for the four or five in the water looking. Still, it’s a beautiful morning, so it was just good to be out having a look around.

This morning’s run of the wave forecast models isn’t presenting the clearest picture for the week ahead. The Bureau’s version of the data shows flatness for three days and then  overnight Wednesday a south swell of 1.5-2m pulses up for Thursday morning. But several other riffs on the data show it staying small to near flat right into the weekend. The long range models are showing a potentially big south pulse developing around Saturday. However, if they’re right, it’ll also be accompanied by heaps of wind.  As always, we shall see what Huey decides.

Speaking of Huey and his excellent works, I worked hard to document the swell of the last three days. Probably went overboard, but there you have it, I just love trying to capture ordinary surfers when they’re being extraordinary.  Anyway, I’ll post more about this later, but if you’re keen you can check ’em out right now.

Still to come from Sunday: Manly am, North Narrabeen late pm
