"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Monday finishes up a bit smaller

Hello Friends,

Monday evening as the sun sank in the west, I scrambled aloft to the RealSurf crows nest to grab one last shot of the dwindling day for you.

After going southerly at around 1130, the wind start to inch back to the SSW by 6pm and to ease off a bit to 10-20 kts.

The ocean still looked pretty ordinary I’d have to say. Not a pretty colour and the south chop was hacking the slowly fading south line. The MHL buoy was showing about 2.5 metres of 8 second period south swellin Sydney, but off to the south, it’s more like 2 metres at 7 seconds, so my guess is that it’ll fade overnight.

The Bureau says it’ll be southerly again tomorrow and they’ve hoisted a surf warning. First tide tomorrow will be a low at 0715 which while generally a good thing, will probably not rescue the situation at most places. My hunch is that we’ll have grey skies, south breeze early and sets with faces in the chest to head high range on the bigger ones.

Have yourself a good Monday evening one and all!
