2:30PM UPDATE: The Southerly change smashed through about 12:30 and the surf has picked up a little but not dramatically. What was more stupid was the clubbies on the loudspeaker telling surfers to move away from the flags. Freezing wind, rain and cold water and NO SWIMMERS. I forgot how stupid Queenscliff gets in summer. Oh well lets hope this swell builds quickly and the beaches are shut tomorrow!!
Slept in and was expecting more at 11:30am when I did the surf check. Could be the low tide lull before the storm as I heard it was pulsing earlier. Only occasional 3 ft sets getting into Manly but you can see more going past. The wind is howling a bit from the West still but I guess it all has that feeling of about to change and start smashing in and blowing the surf up as per the forecast. Anyway tomorrow looks the goods. Will keep an eye on it today.
