"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Over the horizon totally remote observations

Hello Friends,

Your reporter is far afield, but he can’t resist filing at least something! The MHL Sydney buoy is showing 1.5 metres of ESE swell at about 12 seconds apart. Wind was a light NE at 0845 but it should start picking up and be into the 15=20kt range by the time one’s thoughts turn to lunch.

Looking at those numbers, I reckon there might be some waist to chest plus sets at places that really like the swell direction. But, as has been the story with this swell, I’d expect the lulls to be getting pretty long.

Looking at the models for the next week or so, it is looking as though the distractions from family obligations will be on the minimal side. Tomorrow the last of the Evan energy should be gone and the NE’r will be kicking up a notch. So Xmas eve in Sydney might be pretty light on for options. Sideshore and beat up NE wind dribble in the late afternoon is a possibility.

Enjoy what you have and go well with your Sunday!

Next tide is a low at about 1210
