The Goat’s Surf Forecast

Surf forecast issued Thursday 23 May 2013: Seven day outlook for Sydney: Up and messy and down and up… with cold/cool air – I’m not getting too excited myself Friday, Saturday: in the 1-2 metre range East South East Sunday, Monday: going down through the 1-2 metre range as swell turns more to the South Tuesday, […]

That’s it for now

Hello Friends, SE 10-15 kts and about a metre of SE swell at 9 seconds apart does not a pretty picture make for Sydney surfers. Throw in grim, grey skies, cold temps and occasional rain and you have a great day for hopping into other things and forgetting about the beach for now. To the […]

The Hardcore

A brief 30 min window of offshore for the hardcore who went out on dark on our first rainy day in a long time.  Credit to the rest who paddled out into onshore crap after that too.  2ft+ sets blowing in amongst the junk every now and then and the forecast is for the same […]

Rhythm

Sometimes you feel out of rhythm with things. I missed pumping Monday, surfed crappy Tuesday so didn’t bother this morning which actually looked a lot of fun.  Wed has Beau out training a pack of frothing groms though so you can get eaten alive if you get in the way. Nothing goes through unridden.   Looks […]

A few options for the early

Hello Friends, Found myself down at Dee Why right on daybreak. Spectacular skies and still a few fun peaks popping up for the early risers. Swell’s definitely gone off the boil now. The lulls are longer, the good, makeable set waves are fewer and farther between, but I did see a few shoulder plus sets […]

Swell faded fast

Swell’s on the fade. In fact it was dropping fast this morning. But there are still the occasional sets turning up at south spots. You might even have caught something in the chest plus range if you were lucky at Dee Why beach when I checked around 330.

Another morning of waves at south spots

Hello Friends, Swell peaked yesterday, but there’s still some fun to be had. It’s a touch under 2 metres from the SSE at 11 seconds. The complex of mainly left peaks at the Dee Why end of the beach are firing up again and the numbers are upon them. It’s been extremely crowded out there […]

Weekend Wrap: wozthatyou.com | 20/5/13

My weekend started early at North Curly Saturday morning with a pod of playful dolphins and ended (photography-wise anyway) back at North Curly early Sunday arvo for the wildest shorey body board action I have ever witnessed. And in between managed to get a session at North Narra and Dee Why into the mix. A […]

Monday Increase

Looking really nice this morning. 3-4ft wally sets when they came through and a very winter like offshore wind. Some may have chased bigger waves elsewhere but I think the late morning Manly crew had a lot of fun. Mark – Surfboards Direct
