"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Somebody must have the day off

Tiny lines

Hello Friends,

I know whose fault this morning’s flatness is. It’s erstwhile RealSurf reporter PB. Yep, he unexpectedly got the morning off and he’s keen for a surf. So, as we all know, that has to mean it’ll be marginal at best. So now you know why we’re only seeing the barest trickle of east swell this morning.

It’s about a metre at 12 seconds according to the MHL buoy. So, maybe at a more favourably oriented stretch of beach there might be something tiny to be had. But Dee Why’s so weak that it hadn’t attracted a single punter when I checked at 0730.

The Bureau tells us that we can expect showers to develop and that there’s an 80% chance of precipitation.

Tide was low at 0750 and will reach the next high at 1430.

Outlook is for conditions to remain marginal to near flat for another 24-36 hours, but come Friday, if the models have it right, the swell could kick into gear for a couple of days. The call is for around 1.5-2+ metres of 11-13 second period east swell with offshores and sunny skies.

That’d be mighty fine.

Have yourself a top old Tuesday and check back later today because I’ll be posting an important note about RealSurf later this morning.

Go well!
