Still waiting for it not to be still

A fleck of white at the point Nup, not that one
Hello Friends,

Surf situation is that there is no surf situation. Sadly. The average height of the wind swell out at sea has bumped up to around the 1.3 metre mark, but the average period is just 7 seconds. Looking, searching, for any small signs, I note that the MHL buoy is showing some 12 second component – but it’s just barely showing on the 0600 directional spectra chart. Plus the Bureau’s detailed waves forecast is projecting near flatness from the Vic border to about Newcastle. From there north it looks like you might possibly find a little waist high lump…maybe…

The nearest thing to a prospect of a wave for the Sydney region currently looks like being around Thursday morning when the models are showing maybe 0.5-1m of 10-12s straight south swell. Magnet spots might possibly deliver a little something. Wind is due to be out of the NE then, so north corners maybe.

We’re into the second full day of our two month crowdfunding attempt and you’d have to say yesterday was pretty much a dream start – more than 10% of the target pledged! Some amazing generosity from folks and it was so cool to see a few very familiar names from the early years of the site and the forums. My sincere thanks to those who’ve kicked in and I hope we may look forward to your pledge too!

Go well one and all!
