Grey skies, flat seas for Friday morning

Hello Friends,

Just a quick note for now. SSW wind and mainly SW wind swell under grey skies is delivering not much of anything for surfing. Dee Why was pretty much flat because there’s only about 1.5 metre of 5-6 sec period SW wind swell showing at the moment. Wind is 10-15 kts, but the call is for it to go southerly and get up to 30 kts before backing off tonight. So, not much scope for improvement today.

Tomorrow might see a little improvement in swell energy according to the Bureau. So, we might go from flat to barely surfable knee to waist.

Ah well, have yourself a top old Friday anyway!

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough and associated southerly change has stalled off the Hunter coast. This change is expected to move south today, with a low pressure system developing off the Illawarra or South Coast before quickly moving eastwards into the Tasman Sea. Southerlies will then extend northward again reaching the Macquarie Coast by Saturday afternoon, and the Byron Coast by early Sunday morning as the broader trough moves northeastwards through the Tasman.
