Should be something at magnets

Hello Friends,
Wind was offshore as Thursday got started and we had a small line showing at Dee Why. Size looked to be in the waist high range up the beach, but was struggling to make knee high at the point. The MHL buoy was showing 1.7 metres of 13 sec SE swell as of 0600. Usually those numbers mean fun size, but maybe the high tide at 0440 was still affecting it… better options elsewhere perhaps.
The swell forecast models are a bit all over the place. The Bureau says it’ll come up today and it has dangerous surf warnings for tomorrow and Saturday. Some of the models agree with them, others don’t, but on balance it looks as though we’ll definitely see more activity at south spots over the next 48 hours or so. Tomorrow’s wind call is for weakening SE’rly wind following a swing to that direction late this afternoon.
According to the long range estimates, next week could shape up reasonably well at south swell spots…

How Jess will run the City2Surf

Oh, hey, can I ask a favour? A friend from Surfrider, Jess Hensman,is running in the City2Surf to raise funds for the organisation. But unlike most of the other runners in sensible attire, she’s going as a bag monster. The idea is to raise awareness of Surfrider Foundations Rise Against Plastics campaign – and a bit of money. Here’s the sponsorship page – so be generous!
