"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Small, bumpy, weak but catchable

Hello Friends,

Not much wind around around at 0745 when I happened by Curly and the Dee Why. There’s a bit of weak and scrappy knee to waist plus south wind swell keeping the punters amused under the mainly grey skies. The MHL buoy was reporting 2.6 metres of 9-second period south swell at 0600, but I didn’t see anything close to that along the beaches. Either it dropped dramatically, or there’s something not right with the data. Anyway, you could definitely catch a little something at Curly and a littler something at Dee Why and Longy.

Tide was low at 0800 and will be back to high at 1410. Wind is set to go NE later and the swell is expected to move more around to the east, while dropping a little.

Monday is shaping up to be similar to today, maybe even a touch better – which would be a good thing. The rest of the week is shaping up to be small and marginal, but not quite flat (depending on the time of day and tide obviously).

Have yourself a great Sunday everyone!

Weather Situation

A high pressure ridge extends from south of the Bight to the southwestern Tasman Sea. Northerly winds along the coast will freshen during Monday ahead of a southerly change associated with a cold front developing on the far coast in the afternoon. The change is expected to reach Sydney Waters early Tuesday before weakening on the central coast in the afternoon.
