Grey, southerly but swell

Hello Friends,
Gloomy old Australia Day morning thanks to the southerly arriving late yesterday arvo. Swell is still here though, and despite being battered by sideshores, there were chest to shoulder-high waves along the beach and at the point when I checked for the first time today around 0830.
Wind at North Head was showing SSE 13-20kts before 0900, which is right in line with the forecast. Swell is a combo of a 1.5 metre east and a southerly of about a metre. Tide was low at 0745 and will hit the high at !#50.
Outlook is for the wind to keep up at around this level and from the east to SE through Wednesday. The good thing is that we should have a steady supply of okay size wave- smashed up as they’ll be most places.
I’m off to check out the Australia Day festivities at Dee Why. Have yourself a good one!

Weather Situation

A high pressure centre south of the Bight will move gradually east-southeast over the coming days, with an associated ridge pushing along the New South Wales coast behind a trough. This pattern is expected to maintain generally southeasterly winds along the coast through much of the week. Winds may increase and shift more southerly towards the end of the week, depending on the development of a low pressure system over the Tasman Sea.
