NE and building slowly

Hello Friends,

Light E-NE wind for now but it’ll be 15-20 kts soon enough. Swell’s out of the NE at an average height at sea of close to 2 metres with typical periods in the 11 second range as of 0400.
At 0715 when I grabbed the snaps, it was just about to start raining but surface conditions looked relatively smooth if a bit lumpy for the small crew at the point and along the beach.
Set wave faces were in the chest plus range on bigger ones. Like yesterday, it was smaller overall and less consistent at the point than in the beachies.
Outlook is for the swell to gradually increase over the next several days but as they’ve been showing for some time now, the models are saying we can expect unrelenting east to NE wind until Saturday morning when it looks like going east and then SE. Be interesting to see what the Goat thinks. Speaking of whom, today marks the start of the Year of the Goat apparently. Not sure what that means for us, maybe even better forecasts?

Important note to RealSurf and RealSurf forum visitors: our ad server was compromised a couple of days ago and was taken offline yesterday. We have a lot of combing still to do, but so far have not found any compromises on either site. Google is still generating warning messages for some users based on the original compromises. I’m hoping to be in a position later today to ask them to stop as we’ve eliminated the original source of the threat. My sincere apologies to anyone who may have been encountered a dodgy ad.
