Rainy and a building swell

Hello Friends,

Raining steadily as the day started in Sydney. Swell came up overnight, and in line with expectation is around 3.5 metres from the SSW at about 9 seconds. Wind early was SSW 20-30 kts but the Bureau says it’ll be going southeasterly and getting up to 30-40 kts later.

Tide’s high at 0920 and back to low at 1520.

This morning’s outlook sees the Bureau calling for the wind to be going hard from the south through tomorrow before swinging more SW Wednesday but not backing off. We’ll have to wait until Friday for light winds again.

Looking at the Bureau’s swell model on MetEye, the swell energy is predicted to peak Tuesday afternoon at 5-6 metres and then to gradually roll off into the two metre range Thursday afternoon. By Friday it looks like being back to waist high as a small east wind swell takes over.

Have a great Monday and go well with your plans!

Weather Situation
A strengthening high pressure ridge over the southern Tasman Sea combined with a developing low over the Tasman Sea will produce strong to gale-force winds along southern and central parts of the NSW coast today. The low is expected to deepen Tuesday and move closer to the coast with further strong to gale-force winds along much of the coast and increasing swell. The low is likely to move only slowly to the east on Wednesday.
