Not much doin’ at Dee Why this morning

Hello Friends,
Light offshore breezes and grey skies but despite an impressive average period of 16 seconds at 0700, the 1 metre SSE swell is just going by us. When I grabbed the photo around 0800 this morning, the only on water activity was a pair of SLSC boat people practicing with a rubber ducky.

Outlook is for the micro conditions to prevail through Sunday, but on Monday we should see the next pulse begin to fill in. At the same time the wind is expected to pick up from the SW and be going pretty strongly by the time the waves are showing (probably around midday).

The good news is that the models are showing swell sticking around pretty much all week. It’s not shaping to be big, but it won’t be puny. South magnet spots should be steadily in the waist to head high range across the period. And wind should be SW to W too.

Have yourself a great rest day!

Weather Situation
A weak high pressure ridge lies over the western Tasman Sea . Later on Sunday, a cold front will bring a vigorous south to southwesterly change along New South Wales south coast, extending to Sydney Waters early Monday and to the far north coast by the afternoon. Winds are expected to gradually ease during Tuesday and Wednesday as a strong high pressure system moves over southeastern Australia, extending a ridge to the Tasman Sea.
