Sunny, weaker, smaller, choppier but not flat

Hello Friends,

By 0900 the NE’r was beginning to stir and the 8-sec SE wind bump was around 1.5 metres at sea. Tide was high a couple of hours earlier and set wave faces looked to be in the waist to chest range.

The wind’ll be coming up to 15-20 kts soon and it looks as though the underlying SE wind swell will hang around at about the same level. So, maybe the odd entertaining option in the north corners later. Should be sunny for most of the day, but we might see a thunderstorm in the late afternoon.

Tomorrow there’s a 90% chance of showers and the swell is supposed to swing NE and to pick up into the 1.5 metre range – but the problem is that it’s likely to be only very short period bump. The models are pointing toward a switch back to a more southerly and longer period regime on Tuesday – but the wind’ll be in on top of it from the south.

If the swell can hang in there, we might have okay conditions on Wednesday morning… maybe…

So, dial the expectations to a level consistent with what we have and you’ll be laughing!
