Tiny waves for the keen early Monday

Hello Friends,

Light winds and sunny skies for Monday morning. At 0400 we had 1.5 metres of 7-sec SSE wind bump lapping into Dee Why. That’s too small for the point and just barely into the catchable range on sets along the beach. Figure knee to waist for mals and SUPs and you’ll be about right. Tide will be high at 0750 and then back to low at 1400, so that makes for fatness as well as general weakness.

The Bureau says we’re in for a warm one today and, this morning’s sunny skies notwithstanding, there’s a 90% of showers by this afternoon. The wind is expected to come up from the north soon. It’s predicted to ge 15-20 kts later ahead of a shift to the south this evening.

Tomorrow sees a strong wind warning from the Bureau for 20-25 kts of SE wind. Swell is tipped to be a mix of increasing south swell and some NE component. The models are calling for 8-10 sec south energy but only short period stuff out of the NE. All and all not an exciting set of numbers.

Wednesday should see the SE fading out and becoming variable and light in the morning according to the Bureau. The SE swell is set to drop too. With luck there’ll still be a few scrappy little bumps for the keen.

Have yourself a top old Monday and keep on smilin’!
