Grey, southerly and small

Hello Friends,

No obvious reason to rush down to the beach this morning. Southerly was ripping along at 20-30 kts. As of 0500 the MHL buoy was registering 3.6 metres of 9-sec SSE swell – which makes the lack of substantial energy at Dee Why point this morning somewhat surprising. As you can see from the pics, there really wasn’t much in the way of a line showing, although there were a few stalwarts in the water anyway. Some of the models reckon it should pulse up and peak around the middle of the day.

Tide’s running into the high at 0840 and the forecast is calling for the southerly to go more SE but back off very slightly in the afternoon. Swell should pick up eventually into the 2-3 metre range sayeth the Bureau.

Tomorrow’s looking like decreasing SE wind and swell is supposed to be around the 1.5-2 metre range from the SSE-SE.Longer range pattern looks like not much to get excited about. Essentially the picture is of short period and small eastish wind swell in the marginal to small range by late in the work week.

Have yourself a top old Tuesday!
