Chunky and junky on Christmas Eve morning

Hello Friends,

Well, let’s see… you could go for a surf at Dee Why this morning. Many had already turned up by 0800. There’s about 1.5 metres of 10-sec SSE swell struggling in, but the quality and power levels are not impressive because the SE wind has only backed off a little overnight. The Bureau says that it’s about as strong as it’ll get (10-15kts), but we can expect it to swing more easterly. Yeah, cheers Huey. Good on ya.
Tomorrow the swell’s meant to bump up a little and be out of the east. However the onshore regime will still be in place, so more of the same, only it’ll be going around NE by afternoon. That could mean a possibility of some relatively cleaner conditions in the north corners.
According to some of the models, there’s the prospect of a weak low forming out in the Tasman early next week and at this stage it looks as though there’s at least a slight prospect of some south swell activity at the magnet spots around Tuesday-Wednesday-ish. Wouldn’t that be good!
Have yourself a great day one and all and stay happy!
