Soft but definitely catchable little waves

Hello Friends,

Glassy and much cleaner than this time yesterday at Dee Why. A reasonable crew was at the point chasing waist-ish mal waves while along the beach there were a few minor gems of a similar size to the point among the shutdowns.
The southerly is set to pick up into the 15-20 kt range later. Swell at 0500 was 1.9 metres at 9 seconds from the south to SSE. There’s also a little long period component from the NE, but I didn’t notice anything obvious when I checked.
Tide was low at 0525 and will be back to high at 1145. Weather should be partly cloudy with a max of 24.
Swell outlook for the next few days is for energy levels to be similar to what we’re seeing this morning. The models are still showing the main swell direction gradually moving away from the south and around to the east by Saturday. And we’re still looking at the prospect of average periods getting a shade over the 10-second mark by then. Right now it’s looking like Saturday morning could see a reasonable wind and swell combo for spots that like east.
So, not too bad an outlook for summer really.
Have yourself a great Tuesday one and all!
