Small but a few little bumps on Monday morning

Hello Friends,

Wind was lightly out of the north before 0700 but the expected overnight drop in the swell energy sees only knee to waist high wave faces at Dee Why. Although the MHL buoy was detecting 1.6 metres of 12-sec SSE swell, by 0700 it definitely looked smaller than that at Dee Why.
Tide’s heading to the high at just before 1000 and the Bureau says we can expect a warm day with an afternoon NE’r. The swell’s expected to continue weakening and tomorrow should be smaller again as the south swell fades out.
The wind regime is set to go southerly from Wednesday. We should see some south swell turning up around the same time, but with heaps of wind and rainy skies too. So, not getting real excited about the prospects for the later part of the week… however things may improve for us at the weekend.
Have yourself a great Monday one and all, and keep on smilin’!

Still the odd catchable one at the beach around 0700

The beach breaks are your only option – the point’s not happening.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system near New Zealand extends a ridge towards the northern New South Wales coast, while a trough deepens over the state’s southwest. This pattern will directly generally northeasterly winds over coastal waters today, freshening in many areas through the afternoon. The trough is expected to bring a southerly change to southern and central parts of the coast during Tuesday, before stalling and weakening in the north early Wednesday. A brief return to northerly winds will precede a cold front, which looks set to bring a more substantial southerly change on Thursday and Friday.
