The Goat’s Surf Forecast

UPDATE

Well there were a few larger than life sets come through today at the big wave places..all 21 northern beaches were closed to swimmers this morning. .so let’s call Sunday 2-3 metres on the sets…out of the East despite the S wind… Not a day for beginners.  If you’re not sure…don’t!

Surf forecast issued Thursday 21 January 2016: Eight day outlook for Sydney:

Way out in the South Pacific about 4000ks give or take from here is a Tropical Cyclone named Victor.  He’s been puffing away and will be sending a little pulse our way for a few days… Not a ‘cyclone swell’ as such, so don’t get excited. .. He’s a long way away and the pulse weakens over distance, but enough for you to notice an extra oomph in the sets from time to time… Bit bigger up the coast if you’re heading up that way.

Medium and rideable waves all Aussie Day Weekend and into the week… could be fun at the right tides.

Friday: low end of the 1-2 metre range East North East

Saturday: 1-2 metres East North East, watch out for the (moderate) sets

Sunday-Friday: let’s call it up and down in the 1-2 metre range mostly Eastish.

Have a Happy Australia Day weekend.

Water temp is a pleasant 24, 25
