Another morning of flatness at Dee Why

Hello Friends,

Utterly flat at Dee Why this morning, but the Bureau says we can expect a south pulse into the 2.5 metre range over the next few hours. The Eden buoy spiked into the 3 metre range yesterday evening. It looks to have stayed over two metres for about 12 hours. Batemans Bay bumped up about 6 hours later but seems to have only reached the two metre mark. No sign of the energy reaching Port Kembla as of 0600, so my guess is that whatever we’re going to get won’t be here until about lunchtime. Tide’s low at 1040, so if the swell does get into our beaches, it’ll be on the back of a rising tide. Not getting too hopeful as average periods are around the 8 second mark down south, so that says to me that the swell isn’t likely to do much when it does get here.

Naturally I’ll be keeping an eye on it and will update if anything interesting starts to happen.

Outlook is for small to flat for the rest of the work week, but at least a few models are showing a nice looking south pulse mid to late Friday…

Have a great Monday everyone!
