Sydney struggling for Saturday, SoCal not much better

Looks like a morning to pass on surfing – at least if the situation overnight stays the same…
MHL’s Sydney buoy was picking up half a metre of east wind chop at 0500, so I don’t imagine that will improve dramatically by start of play.
Tide was high a little after 0400, so on top of the puny swell, it’ll be fat.
Only slightly better in southern California as the picture of Swami’s down toward San Diego shows…

Weather Situation
Increasing west to northwesterly winds ahead of a cold front and vigorous southwesterly change moving along the New South Wales south coast extending to Sydney Waters late Friday morning and to the far north coast in the evening. Winds will gradually ease during Saturday as a high pressure system moves over southeastern Australia in the wake of the front extending a ridge to the Tasman Sea.
