"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Protected corners the only option

Hello Friends, The marine forecast tells the tale: across the next three days the south swell’s going to be big enough to trigger dangerous surf warnings and the wind’s going to be southerly and probably not going to drop below the 15-20 kt range. As I write this a little after 0600, the wind’s 10-15 […]

Surf report

Today’s Byron pics..small and crowded.. Tomorrow may be bigger. Oops..didn’t notice them in the foreground

Surf report

Postcard from Angourie yesterday..50 out..but I got two waves and was happy. ..50 years to the month since I first surfed there in March 1967. Happy to be still surfing 😊 Today in Sydney SE SW winds. BoM warning of large surf later today..might be ok in some protected corners

SW wind and swell on tap

Hello Friends, As of 0620 wind was SW 15-20 kts at North Head. The 0300 MHL data showed 3.8 metres of 9-sec SSE swell. Tide’s currently dropping to the low at 1000 and weather was cloudy with a few mainly light showers out to sea. The Bureau says the wind’ll get into the 25-30 kt […]

Surf report

In Sydney on the coast the BoM is showing 30-40ks of SE wind and I believe conditions are choppy and messy even at sheltered places..uninspiring . Low Tide’s about 7. 30. Here at Crescent nice waves but very crowded. Overhead sets at the point. ..smaller inside. Calm at the moment. Have a great weekend.

Rainy old Sydney with onshores and no waves

Hello Friends, At 0520 it did not look like a great surf day coming up for Sydney. The rain continues with 25-30mm being predicted across the coming 24 hours. Wind was a light southerly during the pre-dawn hours and the last report on swell from the MHL buoy was showing about a metre of 8 […]

TG’s Surf Forecast

Quick surf forecast coz I’m travelling and busy having fun… The onshore easterlies and Eastish, Eastnortheastish swell coming from a fair distance courtesy of a High in the Tasman might be supplemented or replaced by some swell coming from the South, but overall conditions may not be much better with the wind also behind that. […]

Wind blown

A stiff onshore and brooding grey skies were making for less than pleasant conditions on the Sydney coast just after first light this morning. But there were some mushy, lumpy, small-to-moderate waves to be had. In fact, enough to tempt five surfers to paddle out at North Curly by 6.30am. But even in the northern […]

Rainy Wednesday

Hello Friends, The Bureau says there’s a certainty of rain for Sydney today. Swell is 1.8m and coming from the SE at about 8 seconds apart. Wind was a steady 10 kts from the east at 0500 and it’s not expected to pick up much across the day. So, sloppy wind swell and onshore wind […]
