Only tiny waves for Mum this morning

Hello Friends,

Sorry surfin’ mums, you deserve better waves than this. The 1 metre swell is coming from the east at about 10 seconds and wind was ESE at around 9-10 kts. Dee Why was showing knee to maybe thigh high sets as we headed to a 1.4 m high tide at 1030. Wind should stay around the same intensity today and then go southerly for Monday. It doesn’t look as though Monday will offer much of interest, but there seems to be more activity on the swell front for Tuesday. Your correspondent is certainly hoping so, as he’ll be sending you postcards from the north coast by then.
Have a top old Mother’s Day everyone!

Weather Situation
A weakening high pressure system over the Tasman Sea with a low pressure trough along the northern coast is bringing east to northeasterly winds along most of the New South Wales coast. Another trough to the south is expected to bring a weak southerly change to southern waters this evening, progressing through to the central parts of the coast today. A small low pressure centre is likely to develop within the trough along the northern coast today, before the low is expected to move rapidly away to the east on Monday. This will bring fresh to strong southeast to southwesterly winds to northern and central waters tonight and into the start of the week.
