"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Small and chillly but not flat

Hello Friends,
Had a chance to get a close up look at the beach from Long Reef about 0750 and can report that the wind was cold and the waves tiny up at the Long Reef end. But there were cleaner looking options down the beach toward No Mans. Actually got a picture of a head high wave face on one, but it shutdown a second later and for the most part waves were in the waist high range with the odd chest-ish set. Not many in the water either, but I’d put that down to the icy breeze as much as anything else.
Good to see the MHL buoy data is back online again. The Sydney unit was showing 1.45 metres of 9 sec ESE wind swell at 0600. Wind was lightly out of the west as of 0730. Tide was low at 0415 and is now running into the 1.35 m high at 1045.
Wind is predicted to ramp up from the south and should be hitting the 20 kt mark by lunch. So, if you’re getting in, sooner is better.
Outlook according the Bureau is for light southerlies tomorrow early and a small combo swell from the south and NE. The models are showing surf size sitting around the current settings through the weekend. Happily, they’re still pointing toward a solid swell event (but rainy and windy) for the front half of next week. So there is that…
Have a great Tuesday everyone.

Over at the point, hopefuls messing about

No Man’s set of the day (it shut down instantly)
